A little help along the way

Support

Getting started & privacy

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and no sign-in. Everything you write stays on your phone.

Does anyone read what I write?

No. What you write stays on your phone, encrypted, and we never receive it. No one monitors your journal or check-in answers, and reminders never alert anyone.

Topics & purchases

Which topics are free?

Eighteen topics are free forever: all 5 crisis topics, 11 topics for the hardest times (such as the death of a loved one, depression, miscarriage and addiction), and two everyday topics, “Anxiety and worry” and “Thankful.” Every feature is free too. One purchase, with no subscription, unlocks the other 72 topics.

I bought the full version. How do I get it on a new phone?

Use the same Google account in Google Play on the new phone. The app checks with Google Play when it starts, so the topics unlock by themselves. If they do not, open Settings and tap "Restore purchase".

Keeping your data

How do I keep a copy of what I wrote?

Open Settings and tap "Export all data". This makes one file with everything you wrote, and you choose where to save it, for example in your own email or drive. The file is for your own records; the app does not load it back in.

What happens when I change phones?

What you wrote is not backed up anywhere and does not move to a new phone, not even when you copy everything from your old phone. If you change or reset your phone, open Settings and tap "Export all data" first to keep a copy.

How do I delete everything?

Open Settings and tap "Delete all data". It removes your journal, check-ins, stones, reminders and settings from the phone. We never have a copy, so this cannot be undone.

Reminders & helplines

The helplines are for the wrong country.

The app uses your phone's region setting, and the help screen asks once whether you are in that country now. To choose another country, tap “No, change country”, or open Settings, then Helplines, then Country.

Why do reminders not show the topic?

That is on purpose, so nobody sees it on your lock screen. To show it, open Settings and turn on "Show the topic in reminders". On the most sensitive topics a reminder never shows the topic, and you only get one if you ask for it.

Scripture & app scope

Which Bible translation does the app use?

The Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain.

Is this a medical app?

No. Bible in Plain Sight offers Christian Scripture, prayer and optional reflection. It does not provide diagnosis, therapy or emergency response. No one monitors your journal or check-in answers. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call the local emergency number. Use “Help now” to find listed support services.
